Being the first edition, Comic Con Ibadan 2023 lived up to the hype and expectations as the organisers of the event put together a vibrant display of arts which brought together many comic fans and art enthusiasts. Exhibitors, major comic book and animation studios were also present at their stands as they displayed their different variety of artworks, clothes, fashion accessories, comic books, posters and other various forms of colourful prints.
Some other unique forms of art were displayed and performed at the event like stunning face arts, colourful cosplays, poetry, music performances, stage game competitions, a video game competition and so on.
SMcomics naija, being one of the major exhibitors of the event, were also present at our stand with our quality merchandise, prints and full comic books.
While the comic book, GODS OF AFRICA(GOA): The Adversary #1 sold well, Ibadan comic fans showed us their unique tastes for quality artworks as all 100 copies of Detective’D: The Origin #1 available on display were sold out. 50 copies of Bloomed #1 were also given out to 50 random comic fans at the event and one each to all persons who purchased our newly released comic books as promised.
Awards were also given at the event by the organisers and SMcomics naija were honoured with the award for The Best New Comic Studio of the year.
SM would like to thank the organisers for this great recognition of which we would always remember. We also thank the best art family, the SM tribe, for your supports and votes as it helped us to clinch the award.
We are looking forward to putting out much more better quality works of art with you the fans on our side, not resting on our oars as we sail together on this amazing journey of creativity.
